Workshops and Learning Opportunities

Online learning opportunities:

CITI online training modules can be found at CITI login. Included in the UTIA classes are Responsible Conduct of Research (required of all participants on NIFA projects), Export Control, and Conflict of Interest. Associate with UT Knoxville to take training required to work with Human Subject.

K@TE online training is available at K@TE login. Learning includes Child Protection Training, Security the Human (IT training), safety training including “UTIA Chemical Hygiene and Laboratory Safety Training”, Business Ethics, IRIS training, Title IX Mandatory Reporter Training, UT Code of Conduct, and much more.

Students and employees can find online training options at Canvas:

Student safety training includes “UTIA Chemical Hygiene and Laboratory Safety” and "Laboratory Safety for Undergraduates and Minors". (Contact the UTIA Safety Office with questions.)

Radiation safety training access requires registration with the Radiation Safety department (contact radiationsafety@utk.edu) with the Radiation Safety department. Classes on Canvas include “Radioactive Sealed Source”, “X-ray Machine”, and “Radiation Safety Training for the Veterinary Teaching Hospital”.

UTIA students can find assistance with Canvas at Online@UT (Canvas) Resources for Students.

Biosafety training for students and employees working in laboratories on the Knoxville area campuses can be found at the Biosafety training website.

Animal Subjects training is held via Zoom sessions. Sign up at IACUC Zoom Training. Also, see Working with Hazardous Agents in Animals. Enroll in the Occupational Health Program, required for working with live animals or tissues/specimens, at Initial Job Hazard Assessment. The annual required update for people on IACUC protocols can be found at Annual Health Surveillance Update.
