2003 Field Day Schedule Announced
 

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (January 2, 2003) – Production and marketing issues are the central themes for the 2003 field days and special events scheduled by the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture. Hosted by UT agricultural experiment stations across the state, the 2003 schedule includes eight events tailored to meet the needs of livestock and crop producers and two events designed specifically for lawn and gardening enthusiasts.

Two cultural events have also been scheduled for fall 2003. A regional heritage event will be held at Ames Plantation in Grand Junction on October 11, and the Fall Folklore Jamboree will be held at the Milan Experiment Station on October 18. These events will focus on the history of the region and on traditional crafts and music. Both will begin at 9:00 a.m.

All events are open to the public.

The University of Tennessee Agricultural Experiment Station system includes 11 research facilities located across the state. Their mission is to enhance the quality of life in the state and beyond through agricultural and natural resource research and advancements.
