DYERSBURG, Tenn. (January 17, 2003) - Grain and soybean producers will gather on Thursday, Feb. 6, for this year's Tennessee Grain and Soybean Producers Conference at the Dyer County Fairgrounds. Speakers from the University of Tennessee and industry are on the program. Dr. Delton Gerloff, a professor in the UT Department of Agricultural Economics, will speak on managing price and revenue risk for 2003. W. T. Hime, Extension Director for Obion County, will discuss the Farm Services Agency (FSA), the farm bill and Department of Transportation regulations, and Paul Nielson of Kinze Manufacturing will talk about common sense planter adjustments. Others on the program are Dr. Melvin Newman, UT plant pathology specialist, and Dr. Angela Thompson, UT corn and soybean specialist. After lunch, Jim Bower, president of Bower Trading, Inc., will speak about current trends and outlooks in the marketplace.
