Associate professor D. Raj Raman is serving as interim head of the Department of Biosystems Engineering and Environmental Science.

Raman, who has been with UT 11 years, brings well-rounded skills to the position. He is nationally recognized for his dedication and commitment to excellence in educating engineering students. He also holds a solid record in research and service and is known for his professionalism and rapport with colleagues in the department and throughout the university.

Previous head Ron Yoder left the university to lead the Department of Biological Systems Engineering at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
